What is the broader impact of your summer research? That is, why should the world care about your work?

This work is the start of interpersonal conversations alongside the expansion of research and attention on the issues of education. Not just from a diversity and equity standpoint, but from every aspect of education in order to uphold and reproduce a functioning society. I got my feet wet into the world of education and the work of academics and dove deep into different topics green my passion to continue my extensive knowledge on the state and history of education. In doing so, I have developed a passion for helping discover the needed picture in educational institutions around. the world.

What has summer research taught you about yourself and the field that you researched and/or studied?

I had so much personal growth in many aspects of my life, and the two that standout were finding passions and working towards healthy habits. Recognizing old patterns and unlearning them proved to be a much more grueling task, but working towards it has also helped me discover passions like reading, skateboarding and fitness. I learned how to gain stamina and read for certain content when looking at articles. Becoming patient when understanding concepts or clusters of information was a difficult but beneficial practice, and started my habit of reading everyday and keeping track.

What advice would you give to students considering a future research opportunity similar to the one you participated in?

Proper preparation is key throughout the summer, so plan your study time well but also have time for yourself to rewind and focus on things that are unrelated but still fill your cup.
